Daniel L. Spivey

Associate

Daniel L. Spivey is an Associate in the Chicago office of Vedder Price and a member of the firm’s Global Transportation Finance team and Finance and Transactions group.

Mr. Spivey concentrates his practice on secured lending and asset-based financing transactions, particularly transactions involving aircraft or capital equipment. He also focuses his practice on corporate matters, in particular on mergers and acquisitions and commercial lending.

While in law school, Mr. Spivey was the Managing Editor for the Sports Law Journal, in which his Article Conservation Force Et Al. v. Delta Air Lines: The Legality of an Airline Ban on Big Game Hunting Trophies was published. He also placed 2nd on the Respondent side in the Eighth Leiden Sarin International Air Law Moot Court Competition held in Malta. During law school he served as the Vice President of the Black Law Student Association and was a member of the Latino Law Student Association. Prior to joining Vedder Price, Mr. Spivey worked as an extern for the City of Chicago’s Aviation, Environmental, Regulatory and Contracts Division and was a legal intern for JetBlue Airways.

Mr. Spivey is a commercial, multi-engine, instrument rated pilot and enjoys flying in his spare time.
