He represents airlines, operating lessors, private equity sponsors, commercial banks, and other institutional investors in complex transportation financings, with a primary focus on the aviation sector and additional experience across rail and eVTOL platforms. Cody’s work spans the full life cycle of a transaction—from initial structuring and term sheet negotiation to documentation, execution, and post-closing portfolio matters.

Cody has advised on equipment financings totaling several billion dollars in aggregate value. His experience includes secured and unsecured loans, sale-leasebacks, cross-border operating leases, structured financing arrangements, asset-backed financings, and portfolio acquisitions and divestitures. He regularly works with tax advisors, regulatory counsel, and internal deal teams to deliver cohesive execution across jurisdictions and disciplines. He is known for his commercial judgment, responsiveness, and ability to drive deals forward under pressure.

In addition to his transactional practice, Cody serves as Co-Chair of the Board at UCLA School of Law. In this role, he helps shape the law school’s strategic direction, strengthen alumni engagement, and expand pathways between legal education and professional practice. He also guest lectures in the school’s Name, Image and Likeness Clinic, advising law students and student-athletes on the evolving regulatory landscape around NIL rights and compensation.

A former Division I athlete, Cody is nationally recognized for his thought leadership and policy work on NCAA amateurism and pay-for-play legislation. His advocacy and commentary have appeared in national forums shaping the future of collegiate athletics.

Cody earned his J.D. from UCLA School of Law, where he served as Class President and Managing Editor of the UCLA Law Review.
