Vedder Thinking | Events Charles Nerko to Speak at the Initial Assessment Conference

Charles J. Nerko, a member of the Vedder Price Complex Litigation group, will speak at the 2016 Initial Assessment Conference, taking place May 19 – 22 in Lake Placid, New York. The Initial Assessment Conference is a prominent EMS education event that is attended by several hundred health care providers from New York, Vermont and Canada.
Mr. Nerko’s presentation, “They Want to Know It, but Can I Say It?: Privacy Protocols for EMS Providers and Agency Leaders,” will provide guidance on the privacy law issues confronted in a pre-hospital setting. This presentation will draw on Mr. Nerko’s experiences litigating access to the medical records of a world-famous recording artist and volunteering as an emergency medical technician.
