Bruce Radke and Caitlin Podbielski Participate in ASAE’s Association Law for Non-Lawyers Webinar
Shareholder Bruce A. Radke and Associate Caitlin C. Podbielski, both members of Vedder Price's Privacy, CyberSecurity & Media group, will participate in the American Society of Association Executives' webinar "Association Law for Non-Lawyers" on May 17. The three-day online conference features 15 education sessions accompanied by facilitated chat discussions and is designed to provide participants with up-to-date association legal information created specifically for the non-attorney whose work encompasses legal tasks.
Currently, nonprofits and trade associations are managing higher amounts of data derived and maintained in social media and are continually looking for new ways to manage and record that data. Mr. Radke and Ms. Podbielski’s session, "Cloud Computing Contracts and Record Retention in the Digital Age," will discuss how nonprofits and trade associations can better manage record retention of digital media in cloud-based environments, and the associated privacy and security risks. Topics will include mechanisms for mitigating risk internally, through updated record retention policies, and externally, through contractual protections with data processing and hosting vendors.
