Andrew B. Harris is a Partner at Vedder Price and is the European Head of Private Equity and Corporate for the firm. He is a member of the Finance & Transactions group in the firm’s London office.

Mr. Harris focuses on private equity and private M&A transactions. He has considerable experience in share and asset purchases, disposals/exits, MBOs, MBIs, buy and builds, joint ventures and restructurings, and acts for private equity firms, entrepreneurs and high-net-worth individuals, as well as portfolio companies and management teams.

Mr. Harris has been “highly rated” by Legal 500 UK in “Private Equity: Transactions” from 2017 to 2019 and was named a leading practitioner in Chambers UK, who comment on his “deft touch in negotiations.”

A number of the transactions where Mr. Harris was lead adviser have been recognised, over many years, by being awarded or nominated for industry accolades. The latest of these is the disposal of QA by EMK Capital and Bregal Capital to CVC which won the Real Deals "Grand Prix Deal of the Year 2018" and "UK Mid-Cap Deal of the Year 2018."

Previous recognition includes receiving Buyout Magazine's "European Deal of the Year" in 2012 for the disposal of MCi by Bregal Capital to Egeria. Andrew was the named lead partner advising Duke Street Capital and Englefield Capital on the take private of Cox Insurance plc which earned him the distinction of being "Highly Commended" at the 2006 Legal Business Awards for Private Equity Team of the year. 

Prior to joining Vedder Price, Mr. Harris served as a private equity partner at an Am Law 200 firm in London.

  • Acuity Investments on the acquisition from Pro Global Insurance Solutions plc of its outsourcing and consulting businesses.
  • Acuity Investments on the acquisition of the entire issued share capital of Tower Leasing Limited, a leading equipment finance broker in the UK.
  • Acuity Investments on its investment in Weston Insurance, a Miami based hurricane insurer.
  • Bregal Capital on the reorganization of Cognita, an international private schools group, and the investment in Cognita by funds managed by KKR.
  • Bregal Capital on its disposal of MCi to Egaria for $240 million (selected by Buyouts Magazine as 2012 “European Deal of the Year”).
