Joshua A. Dunn is a Shareholder in the New York office of Vedder Price with substantial experience representing clients in complex litigation matters across a wide variety of industries.

Mr. Dunn’s practice involves counseling clients as to litigation avoidance in contract negotiations, conducting contract negotiations and directly handling a wide array of business and commercial disputes including, among other things, all manner of commercial torts, defense and prosecution of contractual rights and remedies, restrictive covenant and trade secret enforcement, securities fraud, antitrust and other commercial matters in both U.S. state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration matters brought before FINRA, the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and JAMS. Mr. Dunn is experienced in handling all phases of litigation, from the temporary restraining order/injunction phase through discovery, mediation/arbitration, trial and appeal. He has also had recent success achieving positive outcomes for clients while appearing remotely at depositions, court hearings, and mediations.

Mr. Dunn also has significant experience representing and defending corporations, directors and officers, registered investment advisors and audit/accounting firms in regulatory investigations and enforcement proceedings brought by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and various other federal and state regulators. He has experience with all phases of the regulatory investigation and enforcement processes, including responding to initial subpoenas and document requests, preparing and presenting witnesses for testimony, making presentations to staff and, where necessary, litigating the matters.

In addition to assisting clients, Mr. Dunn is a regular contributor to the firm’s Securities Litigation and Enforcement Trends newsletter. He is also a member of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee and maintains an active pro bono practice, including representation of veterans in connection with discharge upgrade applications before the Naval Discharge Review Board.

Prior to joining Vedder Price, Mr. Dunn served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Virginia M. Kendall in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. While at Brooklyn Law School, Mr. Dunn also interned with the U.S. Attorney’s office for the Eastern District of New York and the New York City Law Department.
