Internal Investigations Vedder Service

We regularly conduct internal investigations on behalf of companies responding to allegations of misconduct, such as a whistleblower complaint or an unfavorable media report, and proactively detect and/or address business risks and potential government concerns before they surface. During internal investigations, we:

  • Engage with you immediately to fully understand the facts and related issues and to identify the key individuals within your organization
  • Create a practical plan of attack and establish sound procedures, tailored to your organization, that will withstand external scrutiny
  • Identify and review key documents and interview relevant individuals
  • Report key findings, conclusions and recommendations to stakeholders, including officers and executives, the board and/or the audit committee as appropriate
  • If warranted, promote proactive and early remediation to deliver an optimal outcome that reflects your business needs and the best interests of the company, including consideration of whether the organization should self-report its findings to any government agency to enhance the possibility of receiving cooperation credit from regulators and prosecutors
  • Provide informed counseling, advice and training to our corporate clients to develop effective detection and compliance programs
