Vedder Price provides assistance to clients with navigating the myriad of complex legal and compliance obligations related to hiring and maintaining a global workforce. Members of the firm have lived and worked all over the world, and many are fluent in or have a working knowledge of Spanish, Portuguese, French, Catalan, Japanese, Italian, German, Russian and other languages.
We are experienced in managing and resolving a variety of immigration, employment, employee benefits and traditional labor issues in over 100 countries, including the defense of union organizing attempts in multiple jurisdictions, the development of compliant wage systems in countries with unique legal structures, and structuring and implementing cross-border employee compensation and benefits arrangements.
Members of our Labor and Employment and Business Immigration Practice Groups are actively involved in the International Bar Association (IBA), as well as the International Law Section of the American Bar Association (ABA). Among our attorneys are the past chair of the Immigration & Nationality Committee of the IBA and the current co-chair of the International Employment Law Committee of the International Law Section of the ABA. In addition, one of our attorneys serves on the ABA’s 13-member Commission on Immigration and another serves as a Policy Board Member of the Brussels European Employee Relations Group.
