Vedder Price has extensive experience in representing gaming companies and suppliers of gaming equipment in regulatory and licensing matters. The firm also represents these business entities in a wide range of transactional matters, including corporate, real estate, employment, bankruptcy and taxation issues. Vedder Price also handles regulatory compliance, corporate governance and internal investigations peculiar to the gaming industry.
The firm’s gaming practice is chaired by James S. Montana, Jr. who served as a former U.S. Attorney and as former General Counsel to Bally Entertainment Corporation. Under Mr. Montana’s direction, the firm provides a complete range of legal services to the gaming and entertainment industries and has also advised financial service, asset manager and investment banking firms on gaming regulatory matters related to financing of and investments in regulated gaming entities.
Mr. Montana is assisted by Terence M. Dunleavy formerly General Counsel of the Illinois Racing Board, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Racing Board and Commissioner of the Wisconsin Gaming Commission and Chief Compliance Officer for WMS Gaming Inc. Mr. Dunleavy has broad experience in gaming regulatory matters, the development and implementation of gaming compliance programs and both the domestic and foreign gaming industries, with a special emphasis in gaming matters in Asia.
