2008 Ethics Conference: Professionalism, Integrity & Ethics
07/31/2008 - 07/31/2008
Alan M. Koral, a shareholder with Vedder Price and head of the firm’s Labor and Employment Practice Group in New York, is a featured presenter at the 2008 Ethics Conference, hosted by the Foundation for Accounting Education. Mr. Koral’s presentation is titled “Ethics in Employee Relations: Discrimination, Harassment, Retaliation and Your Ethical Responsibilities.”
He will provide an overview of employment law in New York, giving examples of statutory, common law and constitutional principles regulating employer-employee relations. Particular attention will be given to the concepts of discrimination and retaliation. Relevant provisions of the Code of Professional Conduct will be applied to these concepts, showing that accounting firms of all sizes cannot and must not allow discrimination, harassment or retaliations to occur.
This conference qualifies for 8 credits of Ethics CPE. It can be applied to the general 120-hour, 3-year CPE requirement for public practice licensees. Register online at www.nysscpa.org.
