James A. Spizzo and Michelle T. Olson Publish “Employers Have Few Tools to Stem FMLA Abuse”
Authors: James A. Spizzo, Michelle T. Olson
James A. Spizzo, Shareholder, and Michelle T. Olson, Associate—both members of the firm’s Labor and Employment practice area—published the article “Employers Have Few Tools to Stem FMLA Abuse” in the current issue of The Illinois Manufacturer, the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association’s quarterly magazine.
In the article, the authors advise employers on dealing with Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) requests, intermittent leave requests in particular. While it can be difficult to both comply with the terms of the FMLA and prevent employee abuse, say the authors, there are tools available. Mr. Spizzo and Ms. Olson not only help employers identify and understand these tools, but also offer suggestions for their use.
