Ronald Scheinberg is a Shareholder at Vedder Price and member of the firm’s Global Transportation Finance team. He concentrates his practice in corporate finance with a special focus on equipment and commercial bank finance. Mr. Scheinberg represents commercial banks, finance companies, underwriters, investment banks, insurance companies, manufacturers and airlines in aircraft, railcar and other equipment financing. He handles transactions structured as, or utilizing, leveraged leases, back-leveraged operating lessors, warehouses, EETCs, cross-border leases, mortgage financings, operating leases, off-balance-sheet leases, the Export-Import Bank of the United States guarantees, and residual value insurance. Many of these structures utilize capital markets financing techniques, including EETCs, bankruptcy-remote securitizations and commercial paper. Mr. Scheinberg has represented financial institutions in purchase agreements and the financing of not only aircraft and railcar, but also simulators, satellites, industrial production facilities, cars and trucks, and office buildings. He also represents money-center banks in structuring, negotiating and documenting revolving credit and term-loan facilities.
Mr. Scheinberg has written and presented extensively on derivative products and aircraft finance matters. He is a contributor to Aircraft Repossession and Enforcement: Practical Aspects (Kluwer Law International, International Bar Association) and published "The Bank Liquidity Crisis and Aircraft Finance" in Commercial Lending Review. Mr. Scheinberg has earned numerous distinctions and rankings in his industry. He received the highest rankings possible in Chambers USA in the categories of Nationwide Transportation: Aviation: Finance; New York Banking & Finance: Equipment Finance and Leasing; and Nationwide Banking & Finance: Equipment Finance & Leasing. He has also been ranked in Chambers Global’s Asset Finance category in 2010 and 2011; named one of the top aviation lawyers in the world by Euromoney Publications; recognized in The International Who’s Who of Aviation Lawyers; was selected by his peers as one of The Best Lawyers in America; and included in New York Super Lawyers in 2011.
