Ronald Scheinberg joined the New York office of Vedder Price in 1992 as a shareholder and Chair of the New York office’s Equipment and Institutional Finance Group. He concentrates his practice in corporate finance with a special focus on equipment and commercial bank finance.

Mr. Scheinberg represents commercial banks, finance companies, underwriters, investment banks, insurance companies, manufacturers and airlines in the financing of aircraft, railcars and other equipment. His experience includes transactions structured as, or utilizing, leveraged leases, back-leveraged operating lessors, warehouses, enhanced equipment trust certificates, cross-border leases, mortgage financings, operating leases, off-balance-sheet leases, U.S. Ex-Im Bank guarantees and residual value insurance. Many of these structures utilize capital markets financing techniques including enhanced equipment trust certificates (EETCs), bankruptcy-remote securitizations and commercial paper. In addition to aircraft and railcars, Mr. Scheinberg has represented financial institutions in the financing of simulators, purchase agreements (PDPs), satellites, industrial production facilities, cars and trucks, and office buildings.

Mr. Scheinberg also represents money-center banks in structuring, negotiating and documenting revolving credit and term loan facilities; secured and unsecured working capital lines; LBOs, letters of credit, industrial development bonds, commercial paper and off-balance-sheet facilities; ESOP-advantaged credit facilities; and senior and subordinated debt facilities.

Mr. Scheinberg has written extensively on derivative products and aircraft finance matters and has spoken on such topics at many conferences. In 2009, he contributed to a section in the treatise Aircraft Repossession and Enforcement: Practical Aspects, published by Kluwer Law International and the International Bar Association, and authored The Bank Liquidity Crisis and Aircraft Finance article published in the Commercial Lending Review, a bimonthly journal published by CCH Incorporated.

Chambers Client Guide included him in Band 1 for Leading Individuals for Aviation Finance in 2009. Mr. Scheinberg has been named one of the top aviation lawyers in the world by Euromoney Publications.
