Jonathan H. Bogaard is a shareholder in Vedder Price's Corporate Practice Area and one of the founders of the Equipment Finance Group. He concentrates his practice in corporate and tax matters relating to leasing and equipment finance.
In 2001 Mr. Bogaard was named by Airlines International and American Lawyer Media as one of the leading worldwide aviation law practitioners. In 2000 and 2002, Mr. Bogaard was named one of the world's leading aviation lawyers by Euromoney Publications. Most recently, Mr. Bogaard appeared in the 2008 edition of Who’s Who Legal.
A certified public accountant, he has lectured at programs sponsored by The American Conference Institute, The Institute for International Research, The FSS/DISC Tax Association and numerous other programs. Mr. Bogaard has authored chapters for Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education ("IICLE") handbooks.

Equipment Leasing Matters:
Mr. Bogaard has been extensively involved in recent airline restructurings of aircraft finance transactions including public debt transactions, cross-border financings, U.S. leveraged leases, structured financings and manufacturer supported financings. Since 1987 Mr. Bogaard has participated in financings involving over $30 billion of aircraft with significant exposure to foreign sales corporations and cross-border leasing as well as experience in other types of equipment leasing including computers, medical equipment, trucks and telephone equipment.
Corporate and General Tax Matters:
Mr. Bogaard has extensive experience in corporate reorganization and restructurings, cross-border transactions, taxation of financial instruments, private placements, planning for closely held corporations and planning for the utilization of net operating loss carryovers, audits and controversies, bankruptcy tax matters, exempt organizations and accounting issues (including inventories, original issue discount and imputed interest).
