Thomas P. Desmond has been practicing corporate, securities, executive compensation and employee benefits law since he joined Vedder Price in 1981. He has been a member of the firm’s Board of Directors since 1991 and served as a member of its Executive Committee from 1994 to 2003. Previously, Mr. Desmond served as leader of the Corporate Practice Area.

Mr. Desmond is an active member of the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Committee of the ABA Section of Business Law and has lectured frequently on executive compensation, fiduciary duty and securities law. He is the author of a chapter on nonqualified deferred compensation arrangements appearing in Bender’s Federal Tax Service and a co-author of ERISA Fiduciary Responsibilities for Plan Investments, Plan Administration and Plan Audits (6th Ed., 1996).

Mr. Desmond has been recognized by his peers as an Illinois Super Lawyer (2007 edition).
