Michael Goettig joined Vedder Price’s New York office in 2007. An associate in the Litigation and Labor/ Employment Practice Areas, Mr. Goettig represents clients on matters ranging from employee benefit plans and collective bargaining agreements to corporate contract disputes and general litigation matters.
While in law school, he was the Editor in Chief of the Columbia Journal of Asian Law and participated in the school’s litigation-intensive Environmental Law Clinic. He competed in the Jerome Michael Mock Jury Competition and spent the summer following his first year of law school working with the ABA’s Asia Law Initiative in Beijing. While at Columbia, he was a Research Assistant in a course addressing China’s rapidly changing legal environment in such fields as securities litigation, administrative law and foreign investment.
Mr. Goettig lived in southwest China as a Peace Corps volunteer, freelance journalist, and businessman before enrolling in law school. He has published articles in a number of regional periodicals, including the South China Morning Post, the Far Eastern Economic Review and the Asian edition of Time . During his time in China, he became proficient in Mandarin Chinese. An avid runner, Michael has completed several marathons.
