Peter J. Kelly joined the Corporate Practice of Vedder Price in June 2005.

Mr. Kelly spent 12 years in the law department of Waste Management, Inc., including seven years as Vice President and Associate General Counsel. Mr. Kelly’s environmental practice includes Superfund and related litigation and dispute resolution, wetlands, brownfields development, hazardous waste handling, treatment, storage and disposal, and Clean Air and Clean Water Act issues, as well as a wide range of transactional counseling.

Mr. Kelly also served as Environmental Counsel for 12 years with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Chicago (Region V).

Mr. Kelly has represented Waste Management Company in environmental-related matters around the world. His experience in Latin America includes:

• Negotiating with Government of Argentina to develop and construct a Hazardous Waste Facility near Buenos Aires.
• Representation of the Government of Argentina in preparing initial draft of Environmental laws to be used by Argentine legislature to enact its environmental laws.
