Joseph A. Strubbe joined Vedder Price in 1996 as a shareholder and is a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Area. He has significant experience in complex commercial and financial institution litigation, the defense of major class action claims, and intellectual property matters. Mr. Strubbe also has widespread litigation and counseling experience in matters involving federal and state environmental issues, including government and private cost recovery and contribution actions under CERCLA, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) claims, groundwater contamination claims, toxic tort claims, administrative and private actions pertaining to contamination from underground storage tanks and environmental contamination claims against contractors. Mr. Strubbe most recently was lead trial counsel defending a multinational corporation against trade secret misappropriation claims, served as National Mortgage Fraud Recovery Counsel for one of the nation’s largest mortgage lenders in over a dozen federal cases, and represented a defendant in class action litigation involving the alleged contamination of over 800 private drinking water wells. He has also devoted a significant portion of his practice to the litigation and trial of contract disputes, failed transactions as well as transactional counseling, UCC claims, reinsurance and insurance coverage matters, and negligence and professional malpractice matters.
From August 1985 to August 1987, he was a Judicial Clerk for The Honorable Frank J. McGarr, Chief Judge, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Mr. Strubbe was selected for inclusion from 2005 to 2006, and from 2008 to 2011 in Illinois Super Lawyers. In addition, he received a "BV Distinguished" Peer Rating in Martindale-Hubbell.

He has recently served as trial counsel and in negotiation and settlement of class action claims against a national financial institution with exposure of over $3 billion.
