Daniel P. Jackson joined Vedder Price as an Associate in the Litigation practice area. Mr. Jackson represents and counsels corporations and individuals on all litigation concerns, including commercial, contract, bankruptcy and other matters in both US state and federal courts.
Mr. Jackson has been involved in a wide array of litigation matters. In January 2010, he obtained a dismissal on behalf of a client in a case in which the Plaintiff filed suit for defamation, stemming from a statement made by the Defendant to the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Committee (ARDC) in the course of an official inquiry. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Jackson helped another client, that had also been sued for defamation, obtain dismissal on the grounds that the allegedly defamatory statements were protected opinions. In July 2010, Mr. Jackson obtained dismissal of all pending counterclaims against his clients in a patent infringement case. Around that same time, Mr. Jackson assisted in settling a case on behalf of four children who had been the victims of excessive force by law enforcement officials. The case made national headlines. In August 2010, Mr. Jackson obtained dismissal of a suit originally filed as a class action, containing allegations of consumer fraud and negligence against a corporate defendant.
While attending law school, Mr. Jackson was cocaptain of the Regional Champion team in the ATLA Mock Trial Competition (2006) as well as cocaptain of the National Semi-Finalist team that same year. He participated in numerous other trial competitions including: The Kenneth Kandaras Mock Trial Competition (1st Place), Georgetown White Collar Crime Invitational and the LoneStar Classic.
