Daniel T. Sherlock has counseled corporate, limited liability company, partnership and individual clients on a wide range of tax matters. He has substantial experience in taxable and nontaxable business acquisitions and restructurings; planning for specialized entities such as limited liability companies, S corporations and regulated investment companies; planning and structuring public and private partnership ventures including tax aspects of syndicated investments; federal, state and local tax audits and controversies and planning for international tax issues.
Mr. Sherlock is a frequent lecturer at seminars and group panel sessions on a broad range of tax-related topics, including the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, corporate and individual tax planning and controversies with federal and local tax authorities. He is the co-author of “Operating and Maintaining the S Corporation,” a chapter of an Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education treatise on S corporations. Mr. Sherlock served in the U.S. Army as a Captain in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps and was assigned to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York from 1982 through 1984.
