Joan M. Colson is an associate at Vedder Price and a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Area. She represents and counsels corporations and individuals regarding a wide variety of litigation concerns including business and commercial disputes, issues relating to records management and retention, eDiscovery and white-collar criminal defense matters.

Prior to joining Vedder Price, Ms. Colson was an auditor in the Criminal Division, Complex Fraud Section for the United States Attorney’s Office, Northern District of Illinois. While at the United States Attorney’s Office, Ms. Colson performed forensic accounting and auditing work relating to financial aspects of various types of criminal investigations and prosecutions. Prior to working for the United States Attorney’s Office, Ms. Colson was employed by the United States Department of Agriculture, conducting regulatory compliance audits on agricultural businesses.

Ms. Colson is a Certified Public Accountant, receiving her Certified Public Accountant Certificate from the District of Columbia Board of Accountancy in 1992.
