Richard C. Bollow joined Vedder Price as a shareholder in 2008. Prior to joining Vedder Price, Mr. Bollow was a partner at Quinlan & Carroll from 2001 to 2008 and before that a partner at Jenner & Block. Mr. Bollow also served as both junior and senior law clerk to Chief Justice Robert C. Underwood of the Illinois Supreme Court.

Mr. Bollow has extensive experience in all aspects of complex business and commercial litigation in state and federal trial and appellate courts, including breach of contract, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, trade secrets, construction law, emergency injunction proceedings, employment and class action litigation.

Mr. Bollow coordinated all aspects of the defense of the City of Chicago in the Chicago Flood Litigation, including class and individual actions consolidated in the Circuit Court of Cook County and the Northern District of Illinois, appeals to the Illinois Appellate Court, the Illinois Supreme Court, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Bollow also represented a national manufacturer in the consolidated breast implant actions filed in Illinois state courts and the designer and manufacturer of the computerized steering control mechanism on the Exxon Valdez at the time of the grounding of that vessel.

Mr. Bollow has extensive experience in employment litigation, including Title VII, ADEA, ADA and FMLA claims and state court discrimination claims at the local administrative agency level and in federal and state trial and appellate courts.

Mr. Bollow also has litigated numerous of product liability, personal injury, and wrongful death claims involving a wide variety of industrial, construction, agricultural and consumer products from complex factory assembly lines to ethnic hair care products.

In addition to his trial and appellate practice, Mr. Bollow has advised various trade associations with regard to a variety of matters including their work on industry manufacturing and safety standards.
