Sadina Montani is an Associate in the Washington, DC office of Vedder Price and a member of the firm’s Labor and Employment practice area. Ms. Montani counsels her clients on all types of US employment-related issues, including FMLA compliance, Title VII discrimination issues, termination issues (including reductions in force), ADA compliance and discrimination issues, FLSA issues, USERRA compliance and various federal and state employment laws. She regularly drafts policies, employee handbooks, and application materials for employers nationwide, ensuring compliance with various state and federal antidiscrimination, privacy and credit laws. Ms. Montani has conducted wage and hour audits for her clients. She also conducts internal investigations.
Ms. Montani also represents employers in various types of litigation disputes. Ms. Montani’s recent litigation experience includes successfully arguing a motion for summary judgment in Virginia state court on behalf of a national consulting firm against a tortious interference claim brought by a former contractor, successfully moving to dismiss several cases brought against employers and individual managers, responding to discrimination charges filed with the EEOC and state agencies, representing a national retailer in federal court in a Title VII race and national origin discrimination and retaliation suit, serving on the defense team for a nationwide FLSA class action suit, and successfully reaching a preliminary settlement in a significant contract dispute between a government contractor and its primary subcontractor.
Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Montani was a freelance musician and performed with the Greater Lansing Symphony Orchestra, the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra and the South Bend Symphony Orchestra, among others.
