Since joining Vedder Price in 1973, Lawrence L. Summers has represented a wide variety of large and small businesses on all aspects of labor and employment law, including employee benefits matters and litigation. He has been lead counsel in several precedent-setting employment law cases, has extensive experience as lead negotiator in collective bargaining for employers and industry associations, and has represented employers in numerous arbitration and NLRB representation and unfair labor practice proceedings.
Mr. Summers is the author of a chapter entitled "Workplace Violence: Its Scope, Employer Liability and Prevention" that appeared in the Practising Law Institute’s 31st Annual Institute on Employment Law, Volume Two. He also authored a chapter entitled "Wrongful Discharge: Contract, Public Policy, and Tort Claims" that appeared in the Practising Law Institute’s 29th Annual Institute on Employment Law, Volume One.
