Cindy S. Stuyvesant joined Vedder Price in 2003 as an Associate in the firm’s Litigation practice area. Ms. Stuyvesant has vast experience in handling a variety of commercial litigation matters through trial, arbitration and appeal, including actions for breach of contract; breach of warranty; patent, trademark and trade secret infringement; restrictive covenant; defamation; and other business tort matters in both state and federal courts across the country.
In addition to her practice before state and federal courts, Ms. Stuyvesant has also appeared in arbitrations before the American Arbitration Association and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
Ms. Stuyvesant, along with other Vedder Price attorneys, successfully defended the Illinois Coalition for Jobs, Growth & Prosperity and Gregory W. Baise against former Illinois Appellate Court Judge Gordon Maag’s $110 million claim for defamation regarding a political flyer circulated during Plaintiff Gordon Maag’s campaign for the Illinois Supreme Court.
Ms. Stuyvesant has also volunteered her time to provide legal representation to children who are neglected, abused or delinquent in conjunction with The Children’s Law Pro Bono Project of the Children and Family Justice Center of Northwestern University School of Law’s Bluhm Legal Clinic.
Ms. Stuyvesant is a member of Vedder Price’s Associate Advisory Committee, Summer Associate Committee and a member of the Chicago Bar Association.
Ms. Stuyvesant was selected for inclusion on the 2009 and 2010 Illinois Rising Stars list, which features outstanding young lawyers in the State of Illinois.

- Ms. Stuyvesant, along with other Vedder Price attorneys, obtained a dismissal with prejudice on behalf of a Texas energy firm client in an action for breach of contract, fraud, estoppel and quantum meruit brought by its former president who sought more than $75 million in damages, a decision that was upheld by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in March 2010.
