John R. Obiala is a shareholder at Vedder Price and practices in the Corporate Practice Area.
Mr. Obiala counsels corporate clients on general corporate and finance matters, particularly in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations and restructurings, secured transactions and other corporate financings. He also represents venture capital and private equity firms with respect to their investments.
Mr. Obiala has extensive experience in all aspects of Delaware and Illinois corporate, partnership and limited liability laws. He has counseled boards of directors of public and private companies and stockholders concerning corporate governance, fiduciary duties, takeover defense, indemnification, directors’ and officers’ insurance and other matters.
Mr. Obiala is a longstanding member of the Board of Directors of Vedder Price and is a former Corporate Practice Area Leader. Mr. Obiala is also a member of the American and Chicago Bar Associations.
