Michael L. Schein is a shareholder at Vedder Price and a member of the Corporate Reorganization, Bankruptcy and Insolvency Group. He is resident in the Firm’s New York office.
Mr. Schein’s practice encompasses all aspects of bankruptcy, including workouts, corporate restructuring, financial transactions and litigation.
Mr. Schein’s practice and experience encompass a broad range of industries including telecommunications, healthcare, financial services, transportation, manufacturing, publishing, biotechnology, real estate and retail.
Mr. Schein represents hedge funds and financial institutions as lenders and purchasers of distressed assets, including transactions involving DIP financings, plan exit financings and acquisition financings.
Mr. Schein is the founder and former chair of the Financial Markets/IP Insolvency and Workout Section of the Licensing Executives Society. He also is involved in several other professional associations, including the Turnaround Management Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute, where he is a member of the Asset Sales Committee, Finance and Banking Committee, the Technology and Telecommunications Committee and the Healthcare Committee.
