Michael L. Schein is a shareholder in Vedder Price’s Corporate Reorganization, Bankruptcy and Insolvency Practice. He is resident in the firm’s New York office. His practice encompasses all aspects of bankruptcy and restructuring, with a focus on creditor representation that extends to cases and transactions, both in bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court restructurings. Michael’s practice and experience encompass a broad range of industries including telecommunications, high-technology, manufacturing and distribution, publishing, information services, financial services, energy, biotechnology, real estate, textile and retail. Michael also represents hedge funds and financial institutions as lenders and acquirers of distressed assets, including transactions involving DIP financings, plan exit financings and acquisition financings.
Michael is the founder and former chair of the Financial Markets/IP Insolvency and Workout Section of the Licensing Executives Society. He also is involved in several other professional associations including the American Bankruptcy Institute, within which he is a member of the Asset Sales Committee, Technology-Oriented Bankruptcy Subcommittee and Finance and Banking Committee.
