Labor Shareholders J. Kevin Hennessy and Theodore J. Tierney Named As "Top 100" Labor Attorneys

CHICAGO, IL, June 14, 2006- Labor and Employment attorneys Theodore Tierney and J. Kevin Hennessy were recently honored by the Labor Relations Institute (LRI) as two of the “The Top 100 Labor Attorneys” in the United States for 2006. Tierney and Hennessy are both shareholders in Vedder Price’s Chicago office.
The top 100 attorneys are decided by the number of National Labor Relations Board elections in which each lawyer provided representation, as well as the success rate of the elections. More than 8,700 lawyers were evaluated by the LRI before determining the list. The final list represents the top 1 percent of labor attorneys in the United States.
About Kevin Hennessy
Kevin Hennessy has represented management for over 25 years spanning all aspects of labor and employment law, including successfully handling class action employment litigation, collective bargaining, labor arbitrations, non-compete litigation and union organizing campaigns. For example, Mr. Hennessy successfully negotiated six multi-site labor contracts for a national food distributor over an eighteen month period and recently helped lead a nationwide labor negotiation for a major supplier to Big Three Auto.
Mr. Hennessy’s overall approach emphasizes practical solutions to employment relations issues in alignment with management’s immediate and long range goals.
About Ted Tierney
Ted Tierney has counseled small and large manufacturing, service and not-for-profit corporations in all aspects of labor law. He is a successful litigator and has held the position of Trial Attorney with the National Labor Relations Board. From 1964 to 1967, he held the position of Judge Advocate as Captain in the United States Air Force.
Mr. Tierney is a guest lecturer in human resources at Loyola University of Chicago and Northwestern University. He is a frequent lecturer on labor law matters before trade and professional associations.
