Michael D. Whitty: The Environment for Estate Planning “Is as Good as I’ve Ever Seen”
Michael D. Whitty, Shareholder and member of Vedder Price’s Tax and Estate Planning practice group, was featured on Financial Planning’s Advisor TV in the segment “Close-Up: Estate Planning,” which originally aired on January 17, 2012.
Mr. Whitty, who represents venture capital and private equity funds, key executives, investors and high-net-worth individuals in planning for the preservation and transfer of wealth, shared his views on estate planning for 2012. The environment for estate planning, he says, “is as good as I’ve ever seen it in my career.”
Throughout the segment, Mr. Whitty shares insights on estate planning in a volatile market, as well as the fundamental aspects of estate planning and what to look for when selecting an estate planning attorney. He also touches on the newly expanded gift tax exemption and why it may not be in effect after 2012.
