Chinese Bid to Buy U.S. Firms Stalls

"I don't think this slows down Chinese investment," said Michael Nemeroff, head of the mergers-and-acquisition practice at Vedder Price. Chinese companies he said, face the same global challenge U.S. companies do: expand or stagnate.
"Look at the P&G and Gillette situation," Nemeroff said. "Gillette was a very successful company, but it needed more size to compete in a global economy."
