Richard Pearse Named to US-Mexico Bar Association Board
[Chicago, October 2] – Richard W. Pearse, a shareholder and Co-Chair of Vedder Price’s International Practice Group has been acknowledged by the U.S.-Mexico Bar Association (USMBA) for his work in international legal matters. Mr. Pearse concentrates in international infrastructure project development and finance. He has represented clients in development, financing and construction contracting for infrastructure projects such as airports, sea walls, roads, free-trade zones, power (gas-fired cogeneration, coal, coal gasification, waste-coal, biomass, hydroelectric, geo-thermal, wind, nuclear and municipal solid waste), ethanol, water treatment in the United States (including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands), Argentina, Aruba, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Great Britain, Italy, Lebanon, Mexico, Mongolia, Philippines, South Africa, Spain, Taiwan, and Venezuela.
In recognition of his efforts and successes in representing global clients in development, financing and construction contracting for infrastructure projects, Mr. Pearse has been nominated to the Board of Directors of the USMBA. The USMBA was established in 1994 with the purpose of developing and promoting understanding of the legal systems and cultural differences of the U.S. and Mexico. “I am honored to receive this nomination,” said Pearse. “My practice has always been centered around serving clients within the international community, and being a member of the USMBA’s Board will help me to assist other lawyers in both the U.S. and Mexico to better serve their own clients and communities.”Mr. Pearse is named in Who’s Who Legal for Illinois and is designated a Leading Lawyer by the Leading Lawyers Network (2007). Mr. Pearse is a graduate of Boston University, where he received a B.A. in 1976, and was awarded a M.A. from the University of Chicago in 1980. Mr. Pearse received his J.D. in 1984 from Northwestern University.
