Dean N. Gerber Publishes Article on 2011 ASU in ABA’s The Air & Space Lawyer
Dean N. Gerber, Shareholder and Chair of the firm’s Global Transportation Finance team, published “The 2011 Aircraft Sector Understanding: Calming the Turbulent Skies” in the current issue of the ABA’s The Air & Space Lawyer (vol. 24, no. 1, 2011).
In the article, Mr. Gerber analyzes the new 2011 Aircraft Sector Understanding (ASU), an agreement made by representatives from the United States, the European Union, Canada, Brazil and Japan on officially supported export credit agencies (ECAs) for civil aircraft.
The 2011 ASU is an update to the 2007 ASU and seeks to “provide a framework for the predictable, consistent and transparent use of officially supported export credits” as well as “maintain a level playing field across the global aviation industry among manufacturers, airlines, and ECAs.”
