Daniel P. Jackson is a Shareholder and a member of Vedder Price’s Commercial Litigation and Creditors’ Rights and Collections groups.

Mr. Jackson focuses his practice on representing both traditional and nontraditional financial institutions, equipment lessors and manufacturers in litigation matters throughout the United States. He has significant experience enforcing commercial lending/leasing agreements, defending tort claims and litigating matters involving the transportation industry.

Creditors’ Rights and Collection

Mr. Jackson also concentrates his practice in the representation of lenders, large equipment lessors and other creditors in state, district and appellate courts, including prosecuting numerous breach-of-contract and replevin actions as well as post-judgment enforcement and collection, and representing the interests of secured and unsecured creditors in various state courts.

Strategic Defense of Consumer Finance and Related Class Actions

In addition, Mr. Jackson has experience defending companies in consumer litigation matters, including class actions and claims under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and other federal and state statutory claims. Mr. Jackson counsels clients on litigation avoidance and works diligently with clients in the consumer finance space to develop a strategic, cost-effective approaches to achieving success.

Transportation Litigation

Mr. Jackson has experience in all aspects of litigation, appeals and post-judgment proceedings, including arbitrations and bench and jury trials. As a result of his litigation experience and collaboration with members of the firm’s Global Transportation Finance practice team, Mr. Jackson understands that transportation clients deserve litigation counsel who takes time to understand their business operations and objectives.

Real Estate Litigation

Mr. Jackson also has experience with real estate litigation, and he collaborates closely with the firm’s Real Estate practice group. Mr. Jackson is experienced in a variety of real estate litigation matters including commercial lease disputes.

Consumer and Commercial Arbitrations

Mr. Jackson regularly works with clients to strengthen and improve upon their arbitration agreements in the consumer and commercial context. Mr. Jackson also frequently counsels clients on arbitration enforcement inquiries and has successfully helped clients enforce these arbitration agreements in litigation matters throughout the United States. He was selected as an Emerging Lawyer, an affiliate of Leading Lawyers, from 2016 to 2023.
