Margo Wolf O’Donnell is a Shareholder at Vedder Price and a member of the firm’s Litigation and Labor and Employment practice areas.
Ms. O’Donnell is an experienced litigator who handles a variety of cases, including litigation involving restrictive covenants, business torts, employment issues, intellectual property and class action defense. Ms. O’Donnell’s experience includes federal, state and administrative agency litigation involving allegations of sex, race, national origin, disability and age discrimination, wage-and-hour violations and breach of contract. She has represented her clients from the initial litigation stages through trial and appeal.
Ms. O’Donnell also acts as a business adviser to her clients, helping them to anticipate and prevent disputes. She regularly counsels clients on a variety of employment-related issues, including individual and group discharges, releases, confidentiality agreements, noncompetition agreements and internal investigations. She is a frequent speaker and has been widely quoted by various national media outlets on topics relating to the prevention of litigation.
Ms. O’Donnell has received numerous accolades for her work. Law Bulletin Publishing Company recognized Ms. O'Donnell as one of 15 "Women Making an Impact" in the 2012 edition of Women in Law, and Today's Chicago Woman magazine featured Ms. O'Donnell as one of its "100 Women to Watch." Leading Lawyers Network named Ms. O’Donnell to its list of the "Top 100 Leading Women Lawyers in Illinois," and she was selected for inclusion in Illinois Super Lawyers in 2012 and 2013, being recognized as one of the “Top Women Attorneys of Illinois” in 2013. She holds an “AV Preeminent” Peer Rating by Martindale-Hubbell (the highest possible rating). She was also selected by her peers in 2013 and 2014 for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in the field of Commercial Litigation. Legal 500 United States recognizes Ms. O’Donnell in the Labor and Employment—Workplace and Employment Counseling category. Ms. O'Donnell currently serves as President of the Coalition of Women's Initiatives in Law, a legal association with attorneys from over 51 member law firms and 22 corporations. The Coalition unites women’s initiatives in law firms and companies in the Chicago area in order to foster leadership and business opportunities for its members.
